フラメンコギタリスト・沖仁が、3年ぶりに待望の新作「Fantasma VII / Cafuné」を配信限定でリリースした。

今作は、インディーズ時代から続く、沖仁のライフワークとも言える代表曲「Fantasma」シリーズ最新作「FantasmaⅦ」、そして、静寂で深みのあるギターソロ曲「Cafuné」が収められている。

「Fantasma」シリーズ最新作である「Fantasma VII」は、スペイン・アンダルシア地方のヘレスでの体験を起点に生まれた楽曲であり、沖仁の音楽的軌跡を象徴する作品だ。

“ファンタスマは、スペインのアンダルシア地方ヘレスという街に住んでいた頃に最初のバージョンが完成しました。当時はヘレスの中でも特に強烈なフラメンコの息づく、サンティアゴ広場で夜な夜な地元の若者たちに揉まれながら、なんとか彼らのフラメンコを吸収しようともがいていました。彼らのフラメンコの純粋さに打たれるほど、日本人である自分は何なんだろう、と悩んで。サンティアゴ広場にはフラメンコの精霊、亡霊がひしめき合っているように感じて、その強烈な磁力と、それでも自分のギターを弾きたいという思いの狭間で生まれたのがこの曲です。”

伝統と自身の葛藤が交差する中で生まれたこの曲は、フラメンコへの敬愛と新たな表現への挑戦を映し出し、聴く者を強く引き込む力を持っている。

“バージョンⅦではパルマやカホン、カンテといったフラメンコに当たり前に登場する要素をあえて控えたアプローチで進行していく。今の自分にとって1番しっくりくる形を素直に表現しようとしたらこうなりました。”

自身がこう語るように、沖仁のフラメンコギターは強靭なリズムと豊かなハーモニーを得て、よりドラマチックに、そして雄弁に、彼の熱く激しくも繊細な情熱と揺るぎない精神を感じさせてくれる。

一方のカップリング曲「Cafuné」は、落ち着いた中にも豊かな響きを持つギターソロ作品だ。
タイトルはポルトガル語で「愛しい人の髪を優しく撫でる」という意味を持つ”カフネ”という言葉に由来している。

“お世話になったある方が亡くなられた際、娘さんが彼の髪を撫でられている姿を目にし、その情景からこの曲のモチーフが生まれ、タイトルにしました。”

このシングルは、3年の時を経て深化した沖仁の音楽性を象徴し、伝統と革新が交錯する中で紡がれた、沖仁の情熱が刻まれた音楽だ。

フラメンコの深いルーツを背景に、彼独自の世界観が広がり、その豊かな情感と躍動感に引き込まれていく。
沖仁の歩みが映し出す音の風景を通して、情熱と葛藤、そして胸に秘めた深い想いが交錯する鮮烈な瞬間を感じ取ることができるだろう。

Flamenco guitarist Jin Oki has released his long-awaited new work, “Fantasma VII / Cafuné,” exclusively via digital streaming for the first time in three years.

This release features “FantasmaⅦ,” the latest installment in the “Fantasma” series, a signature work that has been a lifelong pursuit for Jin Oki since his indie days. It also includes “Cafuné,” a serene and deeply expressive guitar solo.

The newest work in the “Fantasma” series, “Fantasma VII,” is a composition born from Jin Oki’s experiences in Jerez, Andalusia, Spain, and it symbolizes his musical journey. He says,

“The first version of ‘Fantasma’ was completed when I was living in Jerez, a city in Andalusia, Spain. At that time, I was constantly honing my skills in Santiago Square, a place particularly steeped in intense flamenco, night after night surrounded by local youngsters, struggling to absorb their flamenco. The purity of their flamenco struck me so deeply that I agonized over what it meant for me, as a Japanese person. I felt as if the ghosts and spirits of flamenco were thronging in Santiago Square, and this song was born in the tension between that intense magnetic pull and my desire to play my own guitar”

This song, born from the intersection of tradition and his own internal conflict, reflects his reverence for flamenco and his challenge to new expressions, and possessing a powerful ability to deeply draw in listeners. He also shares,

“In Version VII, I chose to take an intentionally restrained approach,holding back on elements commonly
found in flamenco such as palmas (handclaps), cajón (box drum), and cante (singing). This is simply the form that felt most honest and natural to me at this stage of my artistic journey.”

As he himself describes, Jin Oki’s flamenco guitar has gained powerful rhythm and rich harmony, becoming more dramatic and eloquent. It truly allows listeners to feel the trajectory of his intensely passionate yet delicate emotions and unwavering spirit.

On the other hand, the coupling track, “Cafuné,” is a guitar solo piece by Jin Oki, a composition of calm beauty and rich resonance. The title derives from a Portuguese word meaning “to gently caress a loved one’s hair.”

He says,”When someone I cared for passed away, I saw his daughter gently stroking his hair. That moment became the motif for this piece and inspired its title.”

This single symbolizes Jin Oki’s musicality, deepened over three years, and is music, imprinted with his passion, woven at the intersection of tradition and innovation. Against the backdrop of flamenco’s deep roots, his unique worldview unfolds, drawing listeners into its rich emotion and dynamism. Through the sonic landscape reflecting Jin Oki’s journey, you can feel vivid moments where passion and conflict, along with deeply held emotions, intertwine.
